The HJA78-50A HELICABLE™ boasts robust construction and precise engineering. It is, indeed, a 7/8″ size cable with a black jacket option. The inner conductor is composed of a smooth copper tube, measuring 9.3 mm (0.37 in) in diameter. The dielectric material is, furthermore, a polyethylene helical strip, measuring 20.8 mm (0.82 in) in diameter. A corrugated copper tube forms the outer conductor, with a diameter of 25.2 mm (0.99 in). The overall diameter of the jacket is 29 mm (1.14 in), made from Polyethylene (PE) material. Consequently, this cable is an Air-Dielectric, Corrugated type.

Electrical and Mechanical Performance:

Electrically, the HJA78-50A offers an impedance of $50\pm 0.5\Omega$ and, moreover, supports a maximum frequency of 3 GHz. It achieves a velocity of 93% and a capacitance of 71 pF/m. With a peak power rating of 72.9 kW and an RF peak voltage of 2.7 KV, it handles demanding applications. The inner and outer conductors both have a DC resistance of $0.75\Omega /1000m$. It delivers a typical minimum return loss of 20.8 dB (1.2 VSWR) or better within typical operating bands.

Mechanically, the cable has a nominal weight of 0.79 Kg/m. Its minimum bending radius for a single bend is 90 mm (4 in) , and for repeated bends, it is 300 mm (12 in). The bending moment is 27 Nm, and it features a tensile strength of 1600 N. The recommended clamp spacing is 0.5/0.9 m (1.6/3.0 ft), with a maximum hoisting grip spacing of 61 m (200 ft).
